Map is the underlying world in which most of the game takes place. It starts with several puzzle levels and then unlocks sub-worlds which contain further puzzle levels.
Most of the levels in Map aim to introduce and clear up any confusion the players have about main concept of the game - the fact that texts decide the mechanics of each level. Grass Yard, for example, clears the fact that ordinary nouns are not confined to a specific property. The top area (08-10) introduces and focuses on .
Map introduces the following things:
While other objects are also present in Map, they are introduced in other worlds first.
The map has three gates with unlock requirements. The first gate is opened after clearing 3 subworlds and allows access to A Way Out? level. The second gate requires clearing 5 subworlds and opens access to Volcanic Cavern. The final gate requires 7 subworlds to be cleared and opens the top area.
The return to map option is disabled in this world.
